It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where a single decision can branch into infinite realities, and alternate worlds emerge from the worlds you know. I am the Guardian. I am your guide through these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question, “What if?” After the Marvel logo appears, it transitions into an animated form in the show’s art style. Set in Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very straightforward episode, where things are rushed to fit the puzzle pieces together correctly. And my expression was also pretty straightforward when I watched this episode, as there was no suspense or logical narrative. I understand it’s an animated series perhaps aimed at children? But only kids who are familiar with the entire MCU by now will be able to enjoy it. We’ll see how the rest of the episodes turn out, but after this one I’m sure I won’t be as excited about them anymore. Edit: Episode 2 gave a real taste of what the MCU is all about, it was creative and thoughtful, with some great WHAT IF moments. I really enjoyed seeing T’challa back on screen. However, episode 3 was a blast and made me edit this review. It was so emotional and thrilling to watch that I could have watched an entire movie based on this episode. The characters we’ve come to know were re-explored to a level that leaves you wanting more. I hope to get a 10 star episode by the end of the season. Edit II: Here comes my star for a “weird” but thought-provoking episode that was by far the best of the lot in terms of writing, narration, animation and plot. Special mention goes to Benedict Cumberbatch for his masterful narration. Kudos to Marvel for this achievement. Now on to episode 5: The episode was definitely entertaining, it was humorous and engaging with quality animation, but again it showed too much and at the same time didn’t give viewers enough time to absorb things. Overall, still a 9/10 for the series, at least until the next two episodes. You have to beat episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
